Los Angeles, CA - The2017 USC Demo Day held on Friday April 7th, brought together 80 USC affiliated startups that included student and alumni exhibitors, nearly 100 local VCs + investors and had over 600 attendee registrations. The expo area was open twice throughout the day and it was a lively environment fueled by Red Bull and Soylent. The investor panel was an insightful forum for students to learn from founders and experienced executives and an angel investment seminar that was kicked off by a shark tank style pitch from several promising companies, that included Fund3 and Drops.
The Blackstone Launchpad in the Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Marshall School of Business is leading the efforts on campus to work students on nurturing their ideas into viable companies. There are more than 20 different entrepreneurial programs on campus and USC Demo Day invited students from all of them.
“We are proud to be working with USC to support the emerging tech community on campus and Trojan Alumni founded startups,” said Alex Bottom, a gradute from 2003. “We are also pleased at the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding our latest free product offering, a web dashboard and mobile app called Workmates, available on iOS & Android, that provides social meida features designed for companies to engage their employees in way that improves connectivity and productivity as well as useful data for the organization.”
Workmates provides modern tools that help companies build and showcase its culture by collaborating in a social environment common to other popular social media plaftforms. Workmates is a simple mobile and web solution for rewards & recognition, vacation & leave requests, and offers a Company Directory that centralizes the ability to communicate via phone, text, DM, skype, chat, skype and slack.
